What does your everyday life have to do with voting? More than you might think! Join Civic Lens USA for My Ballot, My Block , an interactive workshop designed to help young people explore how their identities, interests, and communities connect to civic life. Through engaging activities and group discussions, participants will identify issues they care about, discover who makes decisions that impact their communities, and explore how they can use their voices to create change. Participants will also have the opportunity to register or pre-register to vote with guided support. In New York, young people ages 16 and 17 can pre-register to vote, while those 18 and older can register. Whether or not you’re eligible to vote, you’ll leave with a personal action plan for making a difference in your community! Planning to register or pre-register? Please bring your New York State driver’s license or non-driver ID, if you have one, or have the last four digits of your Social Security number handy to help complete your registration. No prior knowledge of politics or voting is needed. Just bring your curiosity and your voice!
