Come explore North Brooklyn’s industrial past and present. Learn about the toxic chemicals and industries that led to the current EPA investigation of the Meeker Avenue Plume, an area with underground chemicals leaking poisonous air into homes and businesses. Meet at the NE corner of McGolrick Park (Nassau & Monitor) . Our route traverses areas of the city where sidewalks are crumbling or nonexistent. Closed toed shoes are recommended. Route is approximately 1.5 miles long. Interested in the tour but prefer a more physically accessible version? We will be giving a virtual tour in the library on Thurs, January 14th @ 6:00pm-7:30pm Hosted by the Meeker Avenue Plume Community Advisory Group (CAG) and Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center.
