Fair Fares NYC (FFNYC)

Fair Fares NYC helps low-income New Yorkers save 50% on public transportation including subway fares, eligible bus fares, and Access-A-Ride paratransit trips. Important details • You should get a Fair Fares NYC OMNY Card in the mail within three weeks if your application is approved. • Access-A-Ride customers will not get an OMNY card. Instead, the discount will be applied automatically to their Access-A-Ride account. • If you're already enrolled in Fair Fares: Fair Fares NYC has transitioned to the OMNY payment system. You can get a new OMNY card for a discount on subways and eligible buses. • To get your new OMNY card, go to the ACCESS HRA Fair Fares portal and do one of these: • Select the "subways and eligible buses" discount type when applying to or renewing Fair Fares • Report a lost or stolen MetroCard • Switch your discount type from "Access-A-Ride" to "subways and eligible buses" • Complete the new "Switch Fair Fares Discount from MetroCard to OMNY" form in the Quick Links section of the portal homepage • You can keep using your active Fair Fares MetroCard until it either expires, or 30 days after you request an OMNY card or renew Fair Fares, whichever comes first. How to apply • Apply online at nyc.gov/fairfares and then download the ACCESS HRA mobile app to submit required documents. • Apply in person at a Fair Fares NYC office .
