Join us at Brooklyn Heights Library on Saturday November 7th from 1 to 5 PM for the 2026 Period Convention ! Lets spread menstrual equity and education. The event will begin with Author Kelsey B Toney presenting her book The Unexpected Consequence of Bleeding on a Tuesday. Kelsey B. Toney is the author of the USA Today Bestseller, The Unexpected Consequence of Bleeding on a Tuesday which was a NYPL and Chicago PL Best Book of the Year, an ALA “RISE: A Feminist Book Project List” Top Ten Selection, and an ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults Top Ten Selection. She writes humorous, heartfelt stories about the hope that exists after we’ve made our most laughably bad decisions. An experienced public speaker, Kelsey has built community around championing for mental health care, self-advocacy, and creativity. At various times in her life, Kelsey has been a public school teacher, a recording artist, and an actress—all roles that nurtured her pursuit of connection through vulnerability, art, and empathy. Her work is fueled by obscenely early mornings and very strong coffee. Learn more about Kelsey at kelseybtoney.com , on her podcast, in her newsletter, or online everywhere @kelseybtoney. To close the convention we have Dr. Claudine, who will educate us on Peri/Menopause. Adults are welcomed to join in for this conversation. Claudine Holt, MD, MPH, MSCP is a double board-certified physician and published author with over 15 years of experience in preventive and lifestyle medicine. With a longstanding passion for women’s health, she recognized that many women—particularly in midlife—needed a more comprehensive and holistic approach to understanding the changes in their bodies and health. That realization led her to found Sacred Health Sanctuary, where she helps women connect the dots between their hormones, lifestyle, nervous system, and overall well-being. She's on a mission to give women the knowledge, tools, and support they need to navigate midlife and beyond with clarity and confidence. Visit https://sacredhealthsanctuary.com to learn more. Games and workshops include Tampon Throwing, Pin the Pad, Bobbi the Uterus Dress Up, Period Jeopardy, Button Making and Menstruation Bracelet Trackers. Prizes will be included for some games! Inclusive Services of Brooklyn Public Library will host a Quiet Sensory Room in our Cranberry Room for those who need some quiet space and a chance to explore different menstruation products.
