Methodology and source policy
Trust the listing. Check the source.
We automate stable official data, preserve the original link, and refuse to invent missing dates, prices, or availability.
Where listings come from
Automated listings come from official government, library, nonprofit, or organizer sources with a stable structured interface. Current automated coverage includes NYC Parks, Brooklyn Public Library, Queens Public Library, and Food Help NYC. Selected legal resources are reviewed from official NYC pages.
How updates work
Imports run daily with source-specific volume, freshness, rejection, failure, and stuck-run checks. Future listings that disappear are held briefly before being marked cancelled; past events are completed. We keep canonical source links so visitors can confirm details.
What we do not do
- We do not bypass access controls or scrape pages that prohibit reliable access.
- We do not infer an event date or price from vague promotional copy.
- We do not sell rankings or accept undisclosed paid placement.
- We do not treat “open now” as a guarantee when provider hours can change.
Corrections and limitations
Organizer schedules change. Always check the official source before traveling, registering, or relying on a service. If a listing is wrong, use the correction process and include the listing URL and the official source showing the change.
